R. Haus Institute, LLC is a consciousness raising establishment focused on all things anthropological, sustainable, and educational. The principal aim of this organization is to facilitate individual and collective healing through teaching, writing, research, and coaching.
In each venue, Alex helps us to rethink the human experience in relationship to each other and the planet, and to find ways to meaningfully integrate knowledges from the past with present and imagined futures.
Alex has worked for many years as a university professor, writer, researcher, and ethnographer. She also has worked extensively with Indigenous communities in North America, and has traveled, lived, and conducted research in the Caribbean, South America, and Southeast Asia. Most importantly, she is the mother of three amazing children who teach her everyday about the preciousness of life and the value of laughter.
Alex holds a PhD and MA in sociocultural anthropology, with a minor in archaeology. She also completed an MA in existential-phenomenological psychology, and a bachelor’s degrees in English and psychology, and a minor in writing.
